Optimism
1971 Year Seven
English – will develop into a good student.
Maths – a pleasant pupil, working well.

Sadness
1976 Year Twelve
English – must become more organised.
Maths – needs to get down to serious study concentrate more on set classwork.

1972 Year Eight.
Science – an excellent student who shows a mature approach to Science;
Her scientific attitude is most encouraging.
Susan Sandor: Sanity. She was freckled, wiry red hair, synagogue sounds.

Music – very good in class and choir.
Mrs Goris: Cream buns and vinyl collections…..I am the focus of my past hidden life
when I am not focused on:
Beautiful gentle light harpsichord sounds inside me,
faintly Bach…relief.


1973 Year Nine
I found: some of my deepest anger, home violence and
The teachers are important.
I notice them.


1974 Year Ten.
English report – great improvement needed in standard of work submitted and an even bigger improvement in attitude and manners. This might get you a job.
I found: prose, windows, Europe, outside of my urban death plot.
Mathematics- needs to concentrate more on her work than on outside interests.
– fuck off
I found: sport – brilliant…. men’s basketball, sad, confused, skin cutter, misfit…
Music – a little disappointing.
Little bit of whisky oh feel a little bit of alone love.

1975 Year Eleven
Alcohol.….that’s a fact.
What’s happening …..Deterioration?
Mathematics – distracted by other things.
School is epic – a difficult life.
Waitressing and free left over drinks….
English – Oral excellent.
I found: talking is easier; not about me… people’s ideas.
French –not been working, fallen behind, more effort required.
I found: Camus existentialist existentialism ….alive in…the deep moment of NOW.
Summary – “coasting” in some subjects and is capable of higher marks
particularly in French.
I found: I can’t see or hear anyone else, three waitressing jobs, three times more alcohol.

1976
Summary – “improvement even at this late stage is possible”.
I can’t read anything, suicidal, desperation. Guess what No bloody improvement “even at this late stage”.

1978 Gough and me off to university!
1992 Sobriety

1980 – 2007: a Degree of Social Science, a Diploma in Justice Studies, a Masters and a PhD in Social Policy.
2019 viewpoint I know nothing. I know more. I would like to know less.
I have found: talent.
