Marching
by Jann Karp, 21 March 2021

Intention,
No ending,
We march.

No violence,
No arrests,
Not reported.

We are free,
Narrative,
No single
Word.

This is a story
We are no longer
In your service.

We are in our service.
We share,
We are driving.

Left a piece out
No way
That man that bloke
Frowns.

An argument,
Trying to say
My opinion
Is clear.

Persuasive he stands
Narrative is mine,
Both longer stares.

His service is to short words,
No consideration of
Context.

Form patriarchy,
Poetry is cultural
Women meaning

My concept is
Freedom.

Pull out your white shirt,
Put your feet on the surface
Of our road.

Scrutinise me,
If you dare,
But listen to what
I have said.

Definitively,
I have said,
Enough is enough.

No interrogation,
No distilling of my
Meaning.

Listen to me,
Take the time,
To consider,
Respect.

Don’t leave a
Piece out.
